Two numbers
What the calculator shows
Every Mogg result has two numbers. The Mogg Score is the AI's read of your photo, from 0 to 10 with one decimal. The Mogg curve is a percentage worked out from that score with a fixed formula, so you can see roughly where it sits.
The curve is S-shaped and centred on 5.5. Near the middle, every tenth of a point moves the percentage a lot. Near the top, gains get harder and the curve flattens out.
The formula
How the Mogg curve is calculated
The curve comes from one fixed formula, the same one the scanner runs on every result. It is worked out from your score, not measured from other people's results.
Curve = 100 ÷(1 + e−1.1 × (score − 5.5))
Rounded to a whole percent, between 1 and 99.

Behind the score
What goes into the score itself
The score is not a tally of features. Mogg rates five parts of the photo on their own: presence, expression, style, lighting and framing. It then combines them into one score, and presence counts the most. The mog rating guide explains each part.
Because the score comes from the photo, the quickest way to raise it is a better shot, not a better formula. The mog scanner guide covers the setup, and the mog meter guide shows how to test it take by take.
FAQ
Questions, answered
How is a mog score calculated?
Mogg’s AI rates one photo on five parts, presence, expression, style, lighting and framing, each from 0 to 10. They are combined into one score on a strict 0 to 10 scale with one decimal, with presence counting the most.
Why does 6 to 7 move the percent more than 8 to 9?
Because the curve is steepest around the middle. Going from 6 to 7 lifts it from 63 to 84 percent, while 8 to 9 only lifts it from 94 to 98 percent.
Is the mog calculator free?
Yes. The calculator on this page is always free, and everyone gets 3 free photo scans every 72 hours. Paid credits are optional.
Is the curve my rank against other people?
No. It is generated from your score with a formula, not measured from other people’s results.
Why does the curve stop at 1 and 99 percent?
It is rounded to a whole percent and kept between 1 and 99, so no score reads as 0 or 100. Even a perfect 10 shows 99 percent.
