What you get
What a mog scan gives you
A mog scan reads the whole photo the way someone scrolling past would: how you carry yourself, how the shot is lit, framed and styled. It names the biggest source of the photo's pull, then scores it on a strict 0 to 10 scale.

Before you scan
Set up a photo that scans clean
The scanner reads the photo, not just you, so the setup counts. The same person can move almost two points with nothing but better light, a higher camera and a plainer wall.
Take 1
5.2
- Ceiling light
- Low angle
- Messy room
Take 2
6.9
- Window light
- Eye level
- Plain wall
- Face a window or step into shade.
- Frame yourself from the chest up.
- Raise the camera to your eye line.
- Pick a plain, quiet background.
- Wipe the lens before you shoot.
Solo or squad
Which scan to run
Solo Rate scans one person. If more than one face is in the shot, it rates the most prominent one, so crop to yourself for a fair read. Squad Roast scans a group photo and scores everyone in it; the mogging test guide shows how a squad result reads.

FAQ
Questions, answered
What is a mog scan?
An AI read of one photo that scores how hard it lands, from 0 to 10 with one decimal. On Mogg.ai that number is your Mogg Score.
Why did my scan score lower than I expected?
Usually it is the photo, not you. Harsh overhead light, a low camera angle and a busy background all pull a score down. Fix one of them and scan again.
Should I use the front or back camera?
The back camera is usually sharper, so use it with a timer or a friend when you can. The front camera is fine in good light, held at eye level.
Can I scan an old photo or a screenshot?
Yes. Any JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC up to 10 MB works. The original photo reads better than a screenshot of it, which loses detail.
Does the scanner work on a pet or a meme?
Yes, and it plays along. A dog, a cartoon or a meme gets scored and read in the same format, just for fun.
